Up Until last year, Google was the developer of the most used Mobile OS Android. With the launch of Google Pixel and Pixel XL, it has now entered Smartphone Industry. Previously Google has worked with different OEM’s But Pixel and Pixel XL were the First Google Branded Smartphones. It received immense appreciation from both the critics and users. Now Google is working on the follow-ups to the last year’s Devices and It is called Google Pixel 2. Rick Osterloh Senior VP, Hardware confirmed that Pixel will stay Premium in a roundtable discussion during Mobile World Congress.
Rumors suggest that there might be Three Pixel Phones in the working namely Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 XXL. Like their predecessors, these are also codenames after Aquatic animals. These 3 smartphones are called ‘Muskie’, ‘Walleye’, and ‘Taiman’. While previous rumors suggested that Google might be working on a Budget smartphone but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to Winfuture, the third model codenames ‘Taiman’ was spotted in Google AOSP code.
Google Pixel 2 Specifications:
Google Pixel and Pixel XL are Arguably the Best Android smartphones till now or may be Best smartphone of 2016. It had the best low light camera seen on any smartphone. Reports suggest google will be focused on Improving the Camera furthermore to make the low light pictures even more crispier. All these smartphones will feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which we have seen on Samsung Galaxy S8 and Xiaomi Mi 6. The Google Pixel 2 will sport a 5-Inch display while the Pixel 2 XL will sport a 5.5-Inch Display.
Google might put a larger display in a smaller footprint for the Google Pixel 2 XXL as seen in Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. HTC will be the manufacturer of these smartphones. Some sources say that ‘Taiman’ can also be a Tablet as google Did not update their tablet lineup after Pixel C. Google s reportedly testing these devices. That means it might be not so long till the launch of Pixel smartphones.
Although we like Google Pixel and Pixel XL, the only sore spot was the design. Google might take a different approach this time around. Let’s hope it looks better than last years pixels did.
