Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was Probably the best looking phone when it was launched, Would have been best phone if it didn’t explode.

The original Galaxy Note 7 came with Exynos 8890 octa-core processor coupled with 4 GB RAM and a screen to body ratio of 78%. That was incredible till Mi Mix came and changed the design game.

With features like iris scanner and Super AMOLED Display of 1440×2560 resolution, this device was a beast and required a big battery, that what made Samsung cram a bigger battery into a small body and you know how that turned out.

The device started exploding and made it too dangerous to carry on the plane, All the aircraft in U.S banned this phone.

Samsung tried replacing the devices with another batch which didn’t change anything and finally, Samsung recalled 98% of the Note 7 sold and Discontinued the production.

But Reports from Korea by Hankyung say that Samsung is planning to sell refurbished Note 7 is emerging markets like India and Vietnam to cut the losses. Samsung will reportedly fit smaller 3200mAh or 3000mAh batteries into these Refurbished Note 7.

Reports also say that this move might also be to solve environmental problems due to the disposal of this failed product and to avoid penalties from Ministry of Environment. In an Official Statement, The ministry said: “Penalties can be imposed on Samsung Electronics if it does not observe recycling obligations”.

These devices will come with all the same features as the original but with smaller batteries and will likely go on sale from June 2017.

Update: Contrary to earlier reports from Korea, Samsung Confirmed that it will not sell Note 7 in India. Samsung India spokesperson has made a statement saying “We would like to reiterate that – The report on Samsung planning to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 Smartphone in India is incorrect”.

Update 27 March: Just days before the launch of Galaxy S8, Samsung has confirmed that it will indeed sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 after the approval of local authorities. They have confirmed that it won’t be available in the USA in any way.  Samsung’s Event was opposed by many Greenpeace protesters during MWC 2017 in Barcelona.
